These pictures are a part (12/30) of the exhibition called "STRANGE TAIGA - unusual pictures of Lapland".

Last year, it was ten years that I have lived in Lapland, in Rovaniemi, Vuotso and Sodankylä. Being "a lapp", I feel myself partially an outside spectator, who's quite often surprised, amused, annoyed or grieved by the local way of life.

In my previous exhibitions, I have consentrated on showing Lapland at its best, the untouched nature. This time man himself or man's achiements are present in the pictures in a way or another. As I chose the pictures, I wanted the outcome to reflect my above-mentioned feelings in appropriate proportions.
